Chiara Badesso.

Hi, I'm Chiara Badesso, a Language Expert and member of the Zurich Association of Interpreters and Translators (DÜV). I have an international background in translation, linguistics, and language teaching, with extensive experience (since 2009) as a freelancer in Switzerland, the UK and the USA. My professional career began with a BA and MA in Multimodal Communication and Specialized Translation at ZHAW University of Applied Sciences (Winterthur).

My Strengths

Translation, revision, post-editing, transcreation from English, German and French into Italian

  • I provide professional translations from English, German, and French into Italian, including revision of human-created translations, post-editing of machine- or AI-generated texts, and transcreation. I am experienced in using Trados Studio and have collaborated with ZHAW, the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health, medical document validation agencies, and international clients. Fields include patient information leaflets, rating scales, medical invoices, instructions for use, advertising texts, and company mottos.

My Personal Path

I was born and raised in the province of Reggio Emilia to a Tuscan dad (those pesky Tuscans!) and an Emilian mom. I attended high school and university in Italy, before moving in 2007 to London and, a year later, to German-speaking Switzerland. That’s where my academic and professional journey in translation, linguistics, and language teaching truly began. When I’m not translating or teaching, you’ll find me painting with acrylics, writing, exploring quantum physics, or walking long pilgrimages across Europe. These experiences shape the way I approach my work: with curiosity and dedication.
